How to Avoid interruptions while Sleeping
1. If you are awakened by street noise,
Roommates or other people's activity...
Invest in a white noise machine.
These cost about $50 and can be set to produce sounds
Like ocean waves, rain, babbling brooks and summer sounds.
2. If you wake up due to anxiety dreams...
Process stressful issues during the day,
So you don't take them to bed with you.
Try one of the following:
Talking to a therapist, self-hypnosis, venting to a friend,
Writing out solutions to problems or vigorous exercise.
3. If you need to use the restroom several times a night...
See your doctor to rule out diabetes,
And then cut down on liquids after 6.00 p.m.
Try eliminating caffeine and investigating
The impact of your sodium intake on your problem.
4. If you are awakened by kids or pets...
Children may sleep better if they have
A nightlight or don't eat sugar.
Maybe your pets will do better when you move them
To the other end of the house for the night.
5. If you usually drink alcohol and are waking
Up in the middle of the night...
Limit your alcohol consumption to one drink per night.
Anything more than this will interfere with sleep.
You may fall asleep easily, but your body will wake you
As it processes the alcohol throughout the night.
